Choose Not To Be Judas

Judas was playing the scripts unknown to him.
Don't be the teacher that goes around that school telling untrue stories.
Don't be the teacher that discourages other teachers that are ready to work.
Don't be the teacher that will always see what is wrong and will never suggest solution.
Don't be the teacher that will tell parents any thing just to get gift from them.
Don't be that teacher that refuses to grow and refuses to leave the system for fresh blood.
Don't be that teacher that makes photo copies of your school curriculum and delivery styles, action plan for another school without permission.
Don't be that teacher that will always talk bitterly about the Director or Head of school and laugh 😁 when you see them.
Don't be that teacher that will take school resources home and fight the system of ES ( End of work day searching).
Don't be that teacher that comes late to school almost every day.
Don't be that teacher that is always fighting against meaningful training and staff development plan.
Don't be that teacher that is always hitting children with bad words and negative emotions.
Don't be that teacher that sees the school resources in bad shape and leave it there.
Don't be that teacher that will never give extra.
Don't be that teacher that not research on subject matter.
Don't be that teacher that will never contribute in the Brain storming/ mind mapping meeting.
Jesus knew the end of Judas that one day he will hang himself and he did.
His bad turned out to be good for Jesus.
Most teachers end up hanging themselves by becoming opposite of what the Market Place rewards if they choose to be JUDAS. They become :
Bitter people.
Untruthful people.
Unstable people.
Low skilled practitioners.
Low social skill.
Low empathy skill.
Proud and rude.
Low problem solving skill.
That is what a teacher becomes when he/ she chooses to be JUDAS intentionally or not.
If you find yourself in a school ( organization) where they still don't know the strength of investing in human capacity and having the best HR department for good growth, if you are not comfortable develop yourself and move on rather than stay in the system and contaminate the system.
Refuse to be the JUDAS.
I love you so much.

It is who you are that matters and not what you wear..

Agatha Amata shared a personal story on Teju Babyface Show some weeks ago and I think it might be useful to one or two people out there as we step into 2018.

As she puts it; one of her friend’s sibling was getting married and it was mandated among the friends to buy aso-ebi. For her, aso-ebi is a ‘no no’. But in this case she was arm-twisted to pay 84K for the beautiful material.
On the day of the event, she arrived late to the reception and had to stand because there were no available sits. After standing for about  30 minutes later, she noticed a slim man in babariga and slippers stroll into the party, all eyes were on this man. It was Dangote!
Immediately the mother of the bride sighted Dangote, she stood up from her sit on the high table, carried the chair and rushed down to meet Dangote. In seconds, Aliko was sitting comfortably to the spectacle of the guests.
With mouth agape, Agatha could not hide the shock. She just realized aso-ebi doesn’t make you a special guest. 84K did not count.
Agatha ended her story by saying she learned a valuable lesson on that day, which is: ‘It is who you are that matters, not what you wear’.
As you start the New Year, invest more in yourself. Strive to be the best in what you do.
Cheers to success in 2018

New term, New challenges

New school face the challenge of getting population at first but with time, the equation will be balanced. One of the thing you must ensure is that the few children you have are outstanding in their various classes before you know it, the parents of the children in your school will do the advertisement for your school. I pray you get the right set of teachers who would but in their best to ensure this. This is really a very nice environment for children, I pray with due time that the school will grow

Five ways to become a better educator

 1. GET A LAPTOP! I can count the number of teachers I know who own laptops: very few! Owning a laptop does something for you, it forces you to learn more things and acquire more skills. Don't buy a laptop with the intention of turning it into a DVD player for movies and series. Buy it with a purpose in mind. It will help you become a smarter educator. You do not even need to buy a brand new laptop. You can get Belguim laptops as cheap as N35,000 to N40,000. Owning a laptop makes you more professional. I meet too many teachers who cannot operate a laptop and I find it difficult to take them serious!
 2. BECOME TECH SAVVY! Learn to navigate the digital world. Don't get overwhelmed with technology. Start small. Update your browsing skills, practice with typing on Microsoft Word, then move to Powerpoint. Learn to conduct research online. These skills will be yours for life!
 3. GET A FUNCTIONAL EMAIL! I meet too many teachers who do not have a functional email! I am speechless on this one!
 4. UPGRADE YOUR TEACHING SKILLS: Go for courses! Invest in yourself. If you did not attend up to 3 courses in 2017, then you are already setting yourself up for stagnancy and failure! Let professional development be a part of your game plan! I have attended 9 courses this year already. I have started planning for the courses I will attend in 2018.
 5. COLLABORATE WITH OTHER EDUCATORS: SOCIAL MEDIA has come to stay! Reach out to people who share your passion for teaching, make connections.
 6. GET A MENTOR! Who do you turn to when you are having difficulties at work? I don't mean your pastor…He cannot help you with areas that are particular to your career…he can pray and give you general statements but you need someone more experienced than you who can guide you through the process of being a successful educator.
This teaching business is serious business! We must be armed to succeed!

12 things everybody should do in 2018

*Counselor Fenyi writes…✍*
*1. Pursue* something. Don't walk in the entire 365 days without having something particular in mind to achieve. Start a building project, buy a car, pay some school fees, start some job. Just do something!
*2. Walk* with people wiser or stronger than you. In 2018, surround yourself with people who will inspire you, who will make you feel you can do better, who will challenge you on.
*3. Check* your dressing or appearance. Don't put on 'anything' just because it covers your nakedness. Your appearance tells a lot about you. Iron your dress neatly. Don't wear 'big big' dresses in the name of religion. Wear more decent but fitting dresses. This is the slogan: Simple but Classy.
*4. Check* how you talk. Before you open your mouth, be minded of who you are talking to, where you are talking, when you are talking and also know that your integrity is at stake. In every situation, choose silence over speech unless you don't have any option.
*5. Visit* your parents quite often. Charley, the old man and woman in the village don't need your money, they merely need your company. They need someone they can see and feel proud that they too could see their child through varsity, shs, technical/vocational school, etc.
*6. In 2018,* be more prayerful. Massa, u can't live your life thinking things occur merely logically. There's a Supreme Being who makes things happen, pray to him.
*7. In 2018,* start thinking or planning towards dating or marriage. You are not growing any younger. Start buying a few stuffs you'll need in marriage. Learn how to talk to men with respect and diginity. Carry yourself well. Men, do same.
*8. In 2018,* always think Positive while being Realistic. When you see tigers praying to God, don't join them. You can be positive that they won't 'chop' you since they are praying but be realistic too that after the prayers, they'll remain tigers and God will feed them with flesh.
*9. Buy* something, package it well and take it to your Pastor. When last did you give your Pastor something? In 2018, try and do something 'small' for him. You have no idea what he goes through in his personal life. Let him feel that at least one person in the church cares about him.
*10. In 2018,* Invest more, save less, spend less. Put your money into investment ventures. Buy T-bills, buy shares, buy fixed deposits, import some goods and sell, be a stock broker, etc. In fact, get more than one stream of income!
*11. Atta* Mills is gone, Ghana is moving on. Komla Dumor is gone, BBC is still operating, KABA is gone, Multimedia is working. The point is, don't work your life out. You won't take your work with you when you die. You are not as important as you think, calm down. Take time off work, go and do medical check-up, visit your family, visit Aburi gardens or the beach and appreciate nature, etc.
*12. After* reading, send this message to all your groups and contacts
